Il servizio Unità di Strada, svolto con costanza durante tutto l’anno dai volontari del Comitato Locale di Firenze, in inverno diventa fondamentale per assistere i senza fissa dimora ed aiutarli durante l’emergenza freddo. La Croce Rossa è impegnata nell’attività di distribuzione di generi di prima necessità – come coperte, alimenti preconfezionati, bevande calde – e nel garantire un intervento sanitario d’emergenza laddove necessario. Per rendere un servizio migliore è necessaria anche la collaborazione di tutti i cittadini che vorranno aiutarci donando ciಠche non usano più.
Per questo motivo è stata realizzata l’iniziativa di raccolta «Ri-scalda la notte»: presso il negozio IKEA di Sesto Fiorentino venerdì 22, sabato 23 e domenica 24 ottobre 2010 dalle 10.00 alle 20.00. CROCE ROSSA FIRENZE e IKEA per riscaldare la notte dei senza dimora:
vuoi liberarti di qualche vecchio piumino che non utilizzi più? Per ogni trapunta o coperta regalata, consegnata pulita, in buone condizioni e chiusa in un sacchetto, potrai non solo aiutare una persona senza fissa dimora ma IKEA ti regalerà un buono da 10 euro spendibile all’interno del negozio dal 25 ottobre al 31 dicembre 2010. L’Unità di strada del Comitato Locale di Firenze, che raccoglierà le coperte, le ridistribuirà nelle strade e piazze della città a tutti i bisognosi.
L’anno scorso sono state raccolte 19.000 coperte in Italia, rendendo meno freddo l’inverno di tante persone bisognose; a Firenze sono state 1134 tutte distribuite nei centri di accoglienza per l’emergenza freddo e dalle unità di strada.
Il Comitato Locale di Firenze della Croce Rossa Italiana ringrazia anticipatamente tutti coloro che vorranno dare il proprio contributo.
